These programs enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines while applying their knowledge to everyday situations and embracing technology to succeed in a career.
Triple Play demonstrates how eating smart, keeping fit and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle. The multi-faceted program promotes health and wellness for Club members, ages 5-18, teaching them to increase their physical activity, make smart food choices and enhance their ability to get along with other youth and adults. The program is dynamic, interactive and encourages open discussions. The three components of Triple Play address mind, body and soul.
Designed for ages 6 to 15, the program aims to incorporate healthy living and active learning in every part of the Club experience. Healthy Habits is the “Mind” component of Triple Play, a game plan designed to support mind, body and soul. Healthy Habits emphasizes good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being. This program development is sponsored nationally by Kraft Foods Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company.
SMART Moves, Skills Mastery and Resistance Training Moves, prevention/education program addresses drug and alcohol use and premature sexual activity. The program uses a team approach involving Club staff, peer leaders, parents and community representatives. More than simply emphasizing a “Say No” message, the program teaches young people ages 6 to 15 how to say no by involving them in discussion and role-playing, practicing resistance and refusal skills, developing assertiveness, strengthening decision-making skills and analyzing media and peer influence. The ultimate goal: to promote abstinence from substance abuse and adolescent sexual involvement through the practice of responsible behavior.
Promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys 11 to 14. The program consist of 14 sessions each concentrating on a specific area of character and manhood through highly interactive activities.
